For my first blog, I wanted to reflect on blogging and the role it could have in the modern educational environment. Having perused a number of educational blogs, it seems like a useful tool for continuing education and staying up to date on latest best practices. The blogs I found to be most useful and thought provoking seem to have some research or data that supports their topic and go further than simply relying on personal anecdotal experience to support their claims. I will note though that blogging as a personal record of challenges faced in the classroom to share with others could also have its own uses to present case studies to other educators to learn from.
It feels a little odd to be the person writing an educational blog as I'm simply a student dipping my toes into this world, however I hope this experience builds my confidence in knowing that I can have something to contribute to broader educational landscape.
